Each online lesson takes place between one teacher and one student for either 30 or 60 minutes. Our amazing piano faculty take care to utilize elements of different teaching methods that work best for each student.
Beginner students start with the fundamentals, such as learning the name of the keys, reading music, rhythm, and progressing from one-hand to two-hand songs. They learn a wide range of technical rudiments. In this course, intermediate and advanced students will continue to progress with increased proficiency in techniques and exercises, especially through significant repertoire. Our piano curriculum covers the following subjects:
Note reading and recognition
Counting, rhythm reading
Technique (scales, arpeggios)
Rudiments of Theory
Memorization
Ear training
Students at all levels will be given a selection of repertoire from multiple eras of music (Baroque, Classical, Romantic) to study and perfect.
Students at every level learn to recognize and play individual notes, chords, full two-clef writing and melodic passages.
