Mahan Nohroudi was born on the 29th of March 1981 in Tehran; He is a professional Santour instructor.
He started learning music in childhood by playing Violin. Great interest in traditional music led him to enter the Music Conservatory in Tehran, and by choosing Santour as his specialized instrument, his secondary education ended. After completing his studies in the Conservatory of Music in Tehran, Mahan obtained his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Music and a Master’s degree at the Art University of Karaj, both in playing Santoor.
His main instructors were Parviz Meshkatan, Ardavān Kamkar and Arfa Atraee in playing Santour, Doctor Mohammed Saeed Sharifian and Fereydoun Naseri in harmony, and Siavash Beyzaee in counterpoint.
After graduation, he taught music at the Tehran Music Conservatory and different Music academies. His instrumental works are Hamneshine Dard Vocal Ali Zand Vakili, Soog-e-Bahar vocal Alireza Shah Mohammadi, Khaneye Gharib Vocal Vahid Taj, Asheghi Vocal Salar Aghili, Bigje Khani by Norouz ensemble, Penhan Dar Ghobar. He was also playing on the soundtrack for a few TV series and movies, and he performed in several concerts in Tehran. He also has participated in the Festival International de Musique Andalouse in Algeria and a few Iranian concerts in Toronto, Canada.
