Program Information

The saxophone is a very in-demand instrument, and we will offer you many new and exciting musical opportunities. Whether you are just starting or continuing your education, we would love to help you learn the saxophone from our certified educators. We offer private saxophone lessons through an innovative and engaging curriculum for our students. We have as many adult beginners as we have young children just starting on this instrument. Our unique approach to musical education facilitates a fast and practical learning experience for students of all ages.

Each online saxophone lesson takes place between one teacher and one student for either 30, 45 or 60 minutes. While our saxophone sessions are all private, parents are more than welcome to attend their child’s lessons.

Goals:

Our amazing saxophone instructors take care of utilizing elements of different teaching methods that work best for each student. Creating the correct foundation for technique and appropriate repertoire is the utmost important thing. Students will start with the fundamentals, such as saxophone assembly, reed position, breath control, real tones production, finger placement, etc. Intermediate students learn how to play clear sound, articulation, and an overview of tunes, pieces and songs taught. Advanced and experienced students will develop proficiency in long tones, scales, saxophone ornamentation and vibrato, along with learning significant repertoire. Our saxophone class covers the following subjects:

• Note reading and recognition
• Counting, rhythm reading
• Technique (scales, arpeggios, trills, dynamics)
• Sight reading
• Rudiments of Theory
• Memorization
• Ear training

Repertoire

Selecting repertoire is one of the most challenging and essential tasks that we take on in the development of our student’s musical education. We work on the repertoire in these categories: etudes and studies, solo works, concertos, variations, etc., and short pieces. Students at all levels will be given a selection of repertoire from multiple eras of music to study and perfect.

Requirements:

• No skills required; you can be a beginner student
• You will need a saxophone, reeds and neck strap
• The most important part of music study takes place at home; the more you practice, the better you will be
• Get excited about learning saxophone, as an inspired learner learns faster and easier
