Elnaz Afsharian, from a family with a highly developed artistic background, discovered music in her homeland Iran. She studied violin at the Tehran Conservatory of Music before entering the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, where she obtained her teaching diploma.
She then completed her training in Switzerland at the Haute école de musique de Lausanne, where she studied for a Bachelor's degree in Violin.
After several enriching professional experiences, she decides to renew her artistic practice at the Haute école de musique de Genève in Viola by participating in the classes of Miguel Da Silva and Gabor Takacs-Nagy's string quartet.
She had the opportunity to meet Tabea Zimmermann, Sabine Toutain, Marie Christine Witterkoër and attend their different courses...
Passionate about pedagogy, she had the chance to teach in different public schools in France.
In parallel, she pursues a career as a musician in different ensembles, notably : L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, l'Orchestre National de Lyon, Orchestre Symphonique de Mulhouse and l'Ensemble Eluard.
Elnaz currently plays the viola by luthier Georges Ambros.
