Nima started playing Santour at the age of 6. His father, Naser Safaei, was his master and first teacher for more than 7 years. He also drew inspiration from masters like Faramarz Payvar and Parviz Meshkatian due to their novelty and great contributions to Santour and Persian traditional music.
In addition to his musical pursuits, Nima holds a PhD in Engineering with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence. With over 20 years of experience as a music instructor, he has shared his expertise with students of all levels. He co-founded a collective music band, Ân Trio Ensemble, established in 2018. Throughout his career spanning 25 years in Iran and Canada, Nima has performed in over 40 live performances with various bands, collectives, and large ensembles. He is currently involved in a couple of projects awarded by Canada Council for the Arts and Ontario Arts Council. As a music teacher, Nima's greatest motivation is the joy of discovering and exploring students' potential as musicians and supporting them through their artistic journey.
